My name is Norm Butler,
and I live in a quiet, leafy suburb NW of Sydney in Australia.
Welcome to my Website “Wharepuke”.
And before you ask, Wharepuke is Maori for “house on the hill” and, perhaps not surprisingly, was the name of the first home in New Zealand of which I have any memory.
This “Wharepuke”, however, is my way of expressing
my deep interest in my family’s history and
my urge to relive some of my best-loved travel experiences.
You cannot fail but notice that my “Wharepuke” is very much of the “work in progress” variety, but I hope that you will enjoy reading both about my family and my travels as I chronicle them.
Feel free to enjoy it as much as I do creating it.
